The first year of Wilderness Wellbeing has been a powerful beginning, not just for individual wellbeing, but for the community we are building together.
From the start, our vision has been to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space where people from different walks of life can come together to share, learn, and support one another. Over the course of the year, our Wellbeing Weeks and Weekends have become much more than just retreats; they are living examples of what community care can look like.
In a time when so many are facing financial strain, loneliness, and the silent burden of poor mental health, these gatherings offer a different path: one rooted in connection, collaboration, and shared experience.
Cooking together, creating side by side in workshops, or simply sharing stories around the fire, participants rediscovered the strength of belonging. For many, this sense of collective care was not only the most meaningful part of their time with us, it was a reminder that healing can be accessible, communal, and deeply human.

Some words from our guests...
I’m going to treat myself to a Wilderness Wellbeing retreat every year!
Yazzie has the most unflinchingly positive attitude of anyone I know. Time with her leaves you feeling inspired to give anything a go.
She makes you feel good about yourself and seems to genuinely care about helping you achieve your goals. (more…)

A fabulous weekend in Torridon, with the greatest team. Joyful and so inclusive (age and ability). This is my third Wilderness Fit and am so looking forward to the next one (where are we going Yaz?). Outdoor exercise, lifting rocks, mountain climbers upside down on a tree, pull ups – all the regular gym stuff but in the fresh air, using nature. (more…)
Sea loch dips and mighty long walk up Beinn AliginThe first time I spoke with Yas I knew that not only was she creating something special at her retreat but the benefit that it would give some of our lads from ANDY’S MAN CLUB. I attended the first one with my colleague and both of us were very nervous about what to expect. Within minutes of entering the family home we were made to feel a part of the family straight away and that led to an amazing weekend of self discovery. (more…)
Alex (Andy’s Man Club)I took a lot of new practices not only from the workshops but the chats with fellow group members.
3 out of the 4 workshops I took part in I had never done before so learned from these and have already implemented them into my daily lifestyle and family life.
Learning new skillsI never said anything over the weekend as I wasn’t ready to share, but the main reason my anxiety was so bad was because just before the retreat I was at the funeral of a young person I worked with and looked after. She was my key child and it hit me so hard. I didn’t think I would be in any state to participate in the retreat. I’m so glad I decided to push myself. (more…)

A much needed tripA retreat in nature and surrounded by genuine people
What can I say? I have no words to describe how wonderful weekend you organised. You and the team went the extra mile to makes us all feel welcome and part of the community. I do usually struggle a bit in social settings but I felt at ease. It was the perfect “me time escape” I could wish for. I came back home refreshed, energised and with a happiness I have not had for a long time (3 years to be precise). This retreat in nature and surrounded by genuine people had a magical effect on me.
